Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) is used as an antacid to relieve the symptoms of indigestion and heartburn. It is the active ingredient in most antacid medication. Gush Valley has 159 mg/l of CaCO3.  

The presence of CaCO3 in water is commonly known as Alkalinity. Alkalinity is the total acid–neutralising capacity of the water. 4 litres of Gush gives you the equivalent of 1 antacid tablet.

What Are The Bottled Water Requirements For Babies?

According to the US FDA and the NHS, bottled water for babies should meet the following requirements:

• Less sodium: The sodium (Na) content should be less than 250mg per liter of water.

• Low sulphate: Less than 250mg of sulphate (SO4) in a litre of water.

• Select “low-fluoride” versions: Most packaged drinking water, even those with added minerals, have an average of 0.205 mg of fluoride per litre or ppm (parts per million), which is safe for babies.
